ESP led design and construction administration for this 2.15-acre pet daycare and grooming facility, which includes a 19,522-square-foot building with an indoor pool, kennels, covered drive canopy, and multiple synthetic turf outdoor play areas. Helping to enhance the customer experience and increase occupancy, our team worked with the client to provide creative solutions that maximize usable space, facility workflow, and aesthetics. Tying in the stormwater design and runoff from the turf areas and underdrains, we also designed a detailed underground detention system.
To construct the facility, ESP prepared due-diligence landscape/hardscape documents, survey, and site/civil design documents for permits. Our team also performed subsurface exploration, including soil test borings, laboratory testing, bearing capacity, and settlement analyses for use in structural design, seismic site class information, and pavement systems recommendations. During construction, ESP also provided materials testing services, including soil/stone density testing, masonry inspections, subgrade evaluations, foundation bearing materials evaluations, retaining wall observations and inspections, and concrete testing and observations.
