In 1986, ESP Associates, Inc. was founded to answer the increasing demand for “under one roof” engineering, surveying, and planning services. Merging the firms of Catawba Land Surveys and King, Stewart, & Associates, ESP began as one North Carolina office with 25 employees. Since then, our firm has steadily grown into a team of four companies with over 750 employees in 35 locations across 11 states.
Every step of the journey, ESP has introduced value-added services, capabilities, and locations to better serve our clients. Committed to innovative, seamless, and industry-leading solutions, we proudly invest in the early adoption of cutting-edge technologies that provide our clients the most accurate and complete data possible and support our team to create innovative, industry-leading solutions.
From our earliest years, ESP has successfully maintained state and federal contracts through our dedication to quality, integrity, and service. For NCDOT, we have maintained an on-call surveying contract since 1991 as well as contracts for geotechnical and geophysical services and construction engineering and inspection. In addition to serving local governments like Mecklenburg County Storm Water, our water resources department has also supported FEMA projects since 2008 and served the State of North Carolina’s Floodplain Mapping Program since 2009.
Beginning in 2018, ESP embarked upon a journey to partner with companies like Pickett and Associates, LLC, CivilCorp, LLC, and Ditesco, LLC that would help strengthen our offerings in key markets and regions. With continual growth as an ENR Top 500 firm, we are poised to offer even greater levels of service and capability to the clients and markets we’ve proudly served for nearly four decades.
