CivilCorp, an ESP company, provided engineering, surveying, and construction management services for a new 4,941-square-foot liquid dock platform and barge berthing area for the Victoria County Navigation District. Our team’s responsibilities included design and preparation of contract documents, US Army Corps of Engineers permitting and coordination, procurement of construction services, construction administration, and additional support services.
Project scope included dredging, timber pile mooring structures, a dock fender system, and two 2,500-pound capacity hydraulic cranes. Other site improvements consisted of a field house, extension of potable water service, accommodations for a future fire suppression system, area lighting, and electrical service.
Extensive predesign and preconstruction coordination with the US Army Corps of Engineers was involved. Our team also worked with local USACE representatives from the start of the permit phase through construction notifications. The project required close coordination with Victoria County Navigation District staff from the initial design and throughout construction.
After the project was completed, our team provided engineering and project management services for a fire suppression system for the dock. We also coordinated the installation of piping and additional liquid handling equipment on the dock by port customers who use the dock to transport liquid products.
