Mid-Carolina Regional Portfolio of Resilience Projects

North Carolina’s Regional Resilience Portfolio Program provides coaching and technical assistance for regional partners in the eastern half of the state to build multi-county vulnerability assessments, identify priority actions that reduce risk and enhance resilience in the region, and develop paths to implementation. The program encourages and assists communities in a regional-scale coordination to identify vulnerabilities and solutions. The Mid-Carolina Regional Resilience Portfolio of Projects includes Cumberland, Harnett, and Sampson Counties and the municipalities within them. The portfolio is a compilation of six projects identified through community input and stakeholder engagement, which also outlines funding opportunities and potential project partners to enable a clear path toward implementation for each project.

Mid-Carolina Regional Portfolio of Resilience Projects

The goal of the portfolio is to identify priority actions that reduce risk and enhance resilience in the region with clearly identified steps for implementation. These actions were selected based on the feasibility of near- to medium-term implementation to produce shovel-ready actions that include detailed implementation pathways that leverage state and federal funding opportunities while also establishing partnerships and increasing collaboration. Project partners for this portfolio include the Mid-Carolina Council of Governments, NC Office of Recovery & Resiliency (NCORR), and Regions Innovating for Strong Economies & Environment (RISE).
