CivilCorp, an ESP Company, prepared plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) to replace a main existing 4-40’ span bridge on El Dorado Boulevard over Stafford Run. Serving the Quail Valley Golf Club, this bridge serves as a golf cart link for teeing off at hole #1 and completing the course at hole #18 near City Centre. Services included topographic surveying, subsurface utility investigation, utility design, roadway design, and ADA design. Working with a subconsultant for bridge design, aesthetic bridge railing, planter boxes, and decorative lighting were also included.
For the five existing utilities on the existing bridge, our team removed four utilities and designed a waterline within the bridge structure. We also designed an under channel boring of the golf course’s 16″ irrigation line and an adjustment of the 12” force main and electrical service. To maintain golf cart traffic in a temporary condition, our team’s bridge design subconsultant utilized a proposed prefabricated steel truss bridge designed for golf cart crossing between holes #1 and #2 near the main bridge site. Temporary abutments and plywood decking were also designed for this effort.
