Design & Expansion of Substation Control Houses

Pickett, an ESP Company, was contracted to design substation control houses (85 to-date) per the pre-defined specifications of FD07, high-density, medium and large, built-in-place, all-weather concrete masonry control equipment enclosures (CEEs) equipped with fully-functional AC/DC distribution (station service) and HVAC equipment, including a coordinated grouping of electrical distribution, power conversion, control, and communication equipment.

Our team prepared detailed template design and bid documents, verified structural design criteria (including lateral and gravity loads), validated structural criteria against geotechnical assumptions, prepared standardized detailed fabrication drawings for the four standard CEEs, and compared and updated detailed drawings and bid documents against protection and control requirements.
