ESP is managing the streetscape and infrastructure design for six city blocks along Main Street in the Town of Salisbury, NC. This includes a full streetscape revitalization above ground, with upgraded sidewalks, planting areas, streetlights, increased seating, and improved accessibility. Landscaped islands and stamped asphalt crosswalks will further enhance pedestrian mobility and safety.
Below ground, infrastructure improvements include replacing the aging water main with two parallel eight-inch water mains, adding approximately 70 new fire services to support building sprinkler systems, and incorporating midblock taps to accommodate festivals and events. Additional storm inlets will increase the amount of runoff captured within the system rather than on the streets, while electrical and signal system improvements, including all-new mast arms, will further modernize the corridor.
