The City of Greeley acquired an underground aquifer near Carr, CO. In order to utilize this water supply in the future, the city is constructing approximately 33 miles of 36” waterline that will connect to their existing 60” waterline and extend to the aquifer. The first 7.7 miles of this pipeline began construction in Spring 2023, marking the start of a significant infrastructure project for the city. Ditesco, an ESP company, provided construction management services for the project, overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring quality control through a detailed quality assurance plan.
Our team implemented a risk register to proactively address challenges, while providing resident engineering services to ensure construction was completed according to the plans and specifications. Key milestones during construction included successfully completing the 36″ hot tap on the city’s 60″ waterline, conducting hydrostatic testing of all 7.5 miles of 36″ diameter pipe, and completing six tunneled crossings of state highways, county roads, and irrigation canals.
