ESP provided geotechnical engineering services for the project which consisted of a seven-story Heart & Vascular Institute and Cancer Center (HVCC) building, skybridge to an existing hospital building, 1,000-space parking deck, surface parking lot with drives, and associated infrastructure.
Our services included performing 17 soil test borings to depths ranging from approximately 75 to 120 feet below the existing ground surface. Several borings included rock coring using diamond coring techniques. Our services also included shear wave velocity testing and private utility marking. Foundation recommendation options included rammed aggregate piers, continuous flight auger piles (CFA), and driven piles.
