This park renovation project brought new life to a 23-acre city park by enhancing amenities and accessibility for residents of all ages and abilities. The project included expanding the existing paved parking lot and adding new amenities such as a dog park, modern play equipment, a new restroom, drinking fountains, and shade canopies. Lighting, sewer, and water utilities were also installed to support these new amenities.
ESP’s San Antonio office (formerly Vickrey & Associates, LLC) served as the lead consultant for this project, providing civil engineering, landscape architecture, and survey services. In collaboration with our team’s structural engineering subconsultant, a new pedestrian bridge was also constructed across the floodplain, creating a seamless link between the park and adjoining neighborhood to improve accessibility for residents and encourage park usage.
