Jim Avitabile Joins ESP as Transportation Engineering Director – East

ESP is excited to announce the addition of Jim Avitabile, PE, FDBIA, Transportation Engineering Director – East, to lead our growing infrastructure practice across the state of Florida. The ESP Enterprise currently supports numerous transportation and community infrastructure clients throughout Texas, and with Jim’s leadership, we aim to expand that presence into Florida.


A resident of Orlando, Florida since 1996, Jim has managed transportation and land development projects throughout the Southeast, New England, and Central United States. His experience includes directing the programming, planning, and design efforts on a variety of complex highway, bridge, toll road, interchange, rail, and transit facility projects throughout the United States. He has managed land development projects ranging from residential subdivisions to 5,000-acre master planned communities as well as provided engineering to municipal agencies in support of capital improvement programs covering roadways, trails, and stormwater. As an expert in alternative project delivery, he has advised public agencies in procurement of their projects using design-build, P3, and CMGC and helped position projects for implementation under one or more IIJA funding programs, discretionary grants, and USACE, USDOT, FAA, FTA, or FHWA programsJim received his BSCE and MSCE from Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts and is a Registered Professional Engineer in FL, MA, ME, and GA. He is a certified FDBIA Fellow.
