As a subconsultant to Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, ESP provided geotechnical engineering and utility coordination services for the SC-4 Emergency Design-Build Bridge Replacement, an important SCDOT project recognized for engineering excellence on a time-critical schedule.
After SCDOT load-rating inspections discovered significant steel beam structural deficiencies, the Wagener Road Bridge over South Edisto River was closed to traffic. A detour route was established, and plans were set in motion to replace the bridge on an accelerated schedule of just 300 days from notice to proceed.
